A day late

Mrs Meal. Our next door neighbour all through our childhood, and still next door to Mum, turned 100 yesterday.

She is a real character, originally from the highlands, she has a singing voice, and a great sense of humour.

She has been a member of the WAAF for over 80 years, and after she had been to church (with it's own birthday celebrations) a crew of the RAF and WAAF arrived in full uniform with a violin player in tow to let her know how much she was appreciated.

She still lives in her own home (double story, with a seriously steep stairway), cooks for herself, does her own laundry, and keeps her family on her toes, as they look after her shopping and occasional trips outside.

She is definitely from a different era.
