Another grand day out
This week it was Jean, Brian, Kay and Eric who came with me on Fallowfield Fell. We did the same walk I did a week ago with different friends. (We had similar difficulties with that awful stile.)
Today the sun shone for a while, but then the forecast kicked in. The clouds gathered and it was windy and colder. In my blip Jean, Brian and Eric are walking into the teeth of the wind, but conversing well. I did not know until today that Eric and Brian are such keen football fans. The FA cup was the topic on their minds.
Brian and Jean had Sky installed last week. It worked briefly and then went off, so football and Call the Midwife were cancelled in their house. An engineer has been dispatched but will take a few days to arrive!
We returned home before the rain. Kay had brought parsnip and apple soup. I baked some par-baked bread and prepared the cheese board. We sat and ate and chatted. Lovely.
Mum joined us for the rest of the afternoon's chat.
Margaret (across the road) came with her embroidery. She is doing really well now that she has got the hang of it.
I fell asleep in the chair after dinner and found it hard to wake up.
Poor Daisy is holding one paw as if it hurts. Then she walks on it. Then she stops and holds it up again. I can't find any wound. Let's hope it recovers with a night's sleep.
