the secret life of frozen water

I came upon this frozen puddle on the morning walk. At first glance I thought it had frozen clear and then been stepped on to form this pattern. But no, the surface was smooth! The lines and crystals and bubbles were all formed during the freezing, thawing, and refreezing process. A work of art!
I feel a bit like this puddle in that today has had a few ups and downs, i.e. I feel like I've been "stepped on," and yet I know the Lord is in control and working in me, not just on me.
