The ice rink at Kendall Square is packing up for the season.

These are the cooling pipes that ran under the ice. They would have contained ethylene glycol (antifreeze), cooled by a refrigeration unit to about 5 degrees F (-15 Celsius) and continuously pumped through the system. Now they look like bales of straw - a bit of an odd sight in the heart of Cambridge Biotech.
