BEAR
"If you see me out,
If you see me in the street,
Well I may be having a lot of fun.
And if I could cut it up, then I would n'all
And If I couldn't shut it off, then I would n'all
So sorry angel,
Oh sorry about it all
Oh sorry angel,
It's a cruel call
Oh you were only waiting for
For the world to catch you up at all.
Oh you were only waiting,
Oh you were only waiting for,
For the world to catch you up that's all,
For a thousand years.
I saw you reading the Daily Star
Saw you watching the X Factor
And I was wondering how could you fall so far.
Did you like it when your heart moved faster?
Did you like it when a week was like a four year long,
Where did it all go wrong?
So sorry angel,
Oh sorry little girl
Oh sorry angel,
It's a cruel world
One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight"
I still have the British Sea Power gig running through my head and i've spent a wee night with their music running through my ears tonight.
As i've already mentioned it was a set full of many musical highlights but it was this song that stuck out for me the most.
They have a recurring theme where nature, plant life and the animal world runs frequently through there music and at times in their stage show with big cuddly bears popping up to mingle with the crowd and dance on stage with the band. So no big surprise that the song i'm talking about and that these words are from is simply called 'BEAR'.
I know i should have been able to post a link to hear the song but at times technology does get the better of me, so if you're interested, pop over to youtube and give the song a little listen.
To give a glimpse of how good this band are, this song isn't on any of their albums and it isn't even the lead track on the EP that it's featured on (it's the ZEUS EP if you want to hunt it down on a physical copy) but you won't be disappointed as it's a thing of beauty.
I couldn't get a picture of the person who was dressed up as the polar bear last night at the gig sadly so here's another bear.
It's one of the two panda bears currently at Edinburgh Zoo who they are hoping will manage to successfully mate at some point then the cubs that they would produce would eventually make their way to China were work is already in progress on buying back areas of land so that eventually the cubs of the cubs could finally be released back out into the wild and be at one with nature, where they belong.
