Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

The RV Rachel Carson

A break from the interior photos .... Thank you for all the nice comments...people do like to see other peoples stuff ....and their grandchildren..I think.

There's always boats.   Seen docked by the UW, and from across Portage Bay on our walk, this is the UW’s second oceanography research vessel.  Built in Scotland in 2003, it was acquired by the UW on 2017….I was musing on the name today as I recently read an article about how there is a genre of Climate Crises therapists who are very booked trying to allay peoples understandable fears about what is happening to our global environment.   Rachel Carson was the pioneering marine biologist,  environmentalist who wrote Silent Spring in 1962 which really started many thinking about what humans are doing to the planet. She died in 1964.   Wouldn’t she be appalled today.   As if there weren’t a myriad of other things to worry about.
Tired of things that aren’t working,  and our exhausting to me death cleaning tasks,    I did make soup. :-)
Maybe we can get out of these downer views tonight with some beautiful art….the streaming version of the opera we didn’t go to in person..Orfeo and Eurydice.    And some more stunning  and talented athletes later.   Canada did beat the USA in Hockey.  But how about those gorgeous skaters dancing and doing the impossible.?   As those Climate Crises therapists are telling their clients…”there will be good days!”
