Speedy Boots!

Loki strapped on his speedy boots for this evening walk to help me out with some action shots. I can't even tell you how it makes me feel when I see this guy running! Loki has been on clomipramine for anxiety for almost the past 2 years. He has made such strides that we talked to his behaviorist recently to see how she felt about weening him off of his meds. She agreed that it seemed like it was time and we don't want to see any long term detrimental effects. So we have halved his dose for this upcoming month and will see how he does and then half again the following month and then finally he will be off of it (fingers crossed!) So far, he seems to be doing very well. The biggest improvement so far is that he seems overall happier, more playful and he is running again! He used to be one of the fastest dogs at the dog park when we took him and it was pure joy to watch him run. His meds have made him less anxious overall, however he was always a little dopey and extra lazy. Getting him to run was nigh on impossible. So yay! I am just really hoping he doesn't slide backwards, I want him to have his cake and eat it too ...
