Property Ladder

I have got on the property ladder. I wasn't sure if I was a Cuckoo or a Vulture fund. I found out the meaning of each.

Cuckoo Fund
A “cuckoo fund” is a term given to a fund (typically a hedge fund with institutional investors) that buys up an entire block of apartments directly from the developer before they ever hit the open market.

Vulture Fund
A "vulture fund" is an investment fund that seeks out and buys securities in distressed investments, such as high-yield bonds in or near default, or equities that are in or near bankruptcy.

The Cuckoo Funds have been causing a lot of distress for young couples here in Ireland because it has pushed up the price of homes. First time buyers oftimes find themselves outbid on properties. As well as buying up homes in housing estates these funds are also buying up apartment blocks. This pushes up rental prices as well. Here is an article in the Irish Independent

My tenants, if I get any will be on low rent. I hope I have more luck than I did with the bug motel.
