Duck tape

This picture is a bit of an in-joke: there is a hotel in Aberlady in East Lothian called Duck's Inn, owned by Mr and Mrs Duck and if you don't believe me here's their website. I used to be in a book group with Mrs Duck, so can add further proof of their existence. This painting tickled me - I've always wondered about duck tape, and now I know what it's used for ;-) Incidentally, although the official name for it is now "duct tape", it was in fact originally "duck tape" because it was made out of a cotton duck fabric which repelled water like a duck's back. So now you know.

Anyway, T and I went there for a coffee after seeing the latest exhibition at Waterston House which was of tapestries inspired by the natural world and it was excellent. I took some photos (probably forbidden, but I'm not going to put them online, so I can't see that there's any harm done) and when viewed quite small on my MacBook, you wouldn't realise they were tapestry, although I don't think that's the point.
