Echidna

Echidnas are sometimes known as spiny anteaters. They are quill-covered mammals native to Australia. They are not endangered and are Australia's most widespread native mammal, being found in almost all habitats.

We saw this one crossing the road in the Belair Park, very close to Old Government House. It is a very quiet park road.
