Surfing Kaikoura

Left Rarangi in almost sunshine - it was trying really hard to shine through.  Arrived in Hapuka just north of Kaikoura in rain.  I'm pretty much over rain now!  There were a bunch of hardy souls out on the water though, trying to catch a break - I was pleased to be able to sit in the van and shoot from the relative warmth and dry.  They did seem to be enjoying themselves though which is what it's all about really.  

In COVID news, 204 new community cases were reported today; 16 are in hospital and 0 in ICU.  Numbers may be lower than anticipated because of the long weekend and fewer people getting tested.
