Send in the cones

Sounds of workies up to something in the square this morning - turned out to be shifting parked cars and putting in shiny rails (for bikes? bins?), plus an actual shiny new black bin. Think that's the new style of food waste bin, harder for the rats to get into, I guess.

That 'Ahead only' sign just past the black bin is the most useless piece of street furniture imaginable - not only does it not inform anyone (except traffic that's already going in the right direction, but it blocks the pavement, so that anyone pushing a buggy has to get off the kerb and walk amongst the traffic.
