Hooked On You

Brambles will grab you and snag you. 
And rip you to shreds. 

But the leaves at this time of year are wonderful, with a great colour palette and superb detail. With the low winter sun behind them they are fantastic. 

But watch out, because they are ruthless trip wires and savage rippers of clothing and flesh if you get too close. Give me a roll of barbed wire any day of the week.

Nice walk with Hollie dog this morning and a most agreeable meeting for lunch, with Richard, my old pal from the bank. Recently widowed he is glad of some company and, like a couple of old washer women, we put the world to rights.

Great to catch up and I am pleased that he is bearing up well, having been married for 43 years he misses his wife. But he is very philosophical and is always good company.
