Friends Reunited... in London
I left at 8 this morning for my journey in to London. Jon dropped me in Norwich at the bus station, and the National Express coach arrived on time and we left at 9.30. I had a really nice journey. I watched a film, and an episode of The Crown. The time soon passed. No-one sat next to me, so that was good. Arrived at Victoria early. It was nice driving through London along by the river, seeing all the tourist sites.
I met Glenys and and walked/tubed to London Bridge where we met up with Karen and we walked through Borough Market. Then found The George Inn, which is the only remaining galleried pub left in London. We all had a pint of the local Green Inn ale, and chatted. We chatted a lot. Eventually headed back to Victoria where we met Helen and took our table at Bill's where we were met by Jane. It was so lovely to see them all in person after so long. But as always, it was like we hadn't been apart! To think we first met in 1984. How lucky were we to meet at Chester College in the beautiful city of Chester, when we were all in the same halls of residence! Good old Astbury! It is always lovely to meet up, and today was no exception. We ate great food, and drank lovely wine, and generally had a lovely evening. At 11 we said goodbye to Jane and the 4 of us caught the bus back to Glenys'. Just settling down for the night now....and looking forward to more time together tomorrow!
