Helicopter
Yes it's there if you squint.
I was sitting outside enjoying the sun when this helicopter flew by dangling something beneath it. It was going at quite a clip so I don't think it was a person. They sometimes carry buckets which they dip into lakes and swimming pools for water to dump on fires, but I hope that there was no fire anywhere. I think CalFire uses cameras to check for fires in
tough terrain but it looked too big to be a CalFire helicopter. PG&E uses helicopters for some reason but they fly low over the house and scare the heck out of us, so I really don't know what it was doing. It didn't stick around .
I liked the view of one of the nicer oak trees on the property from my seat on the TV room porch. We had packed up all outdoor cushions, covered the furniture and taken in the umbrellas when it rained in early December but it hasn't rained again since, and the weather is beautiful and warm so we got everything out again today. Maybe that will bring more rain....if not, we'll have to wash the car....
Two more truckloads of cement were poured into the substantial foundations to one side of us and some kind of work was being done on the more modest foundations on the flat lot on the other side. We were blessedly free of beeping trucks and grinding earth movers today.
I cut down some cushions for the bistro chairs outside our bedroom . they had some ember holes in them so I didn't work very hard on them. I put them on the chairs yesterday and gathered them up from the garden this morning after some gusty wind last night. Put some ties on them so I could tie them to the chairs. Now we can watch the earth moving at 'the bunker' in comfort. One never knows when they are going to work on that place...it has been a work in progress ever since we moved here....but it's a good bet they will decide to work on it at the very moment we decide to sit out there....
I think a field trip may be on order for tomorrow....
