Harlequin Duck

This is one of my all-time favorite ducks.

This species’ common name (harlequin) and scientific name (histrionicus) of the Harlequin Duck refer to the almost theatrical nature of the male’s colorful plumage.

It doesn't quack like most ducks, it squeaks and that's why it was also known as the "sea mouse."
