Amandine's Plot Treize

Removing daffodil protection

The two rows of daffodils I planted here in the autumn have been covered with chichen wire to stop squirrels digging up the bulbs.

Strong stems are now showing so I thought it best to remove the chicken wire as it'll be difficult not to damage them if they grow too tall through the chicken wire.

The woodchip mulch was to mark out the rows but I realise now that it wasn't very accurate!

I've recently sowed spring green manure in between the rows of daffodils and hope this soon-to-be 3-sister bed will be covered in green mulch next month.
