River View
Another uplifting beautiful sunny day with temperatures topping 40F. After stocking up on bird seed for all the birds and critters we visited a few places along the river to take in the scenic winter views • This view is taken at our local Boat Landing looking upriver where the Pearl Harbor Remembrance Bridge crosses the Kennebec. It was built in 1980 replacing the original one from 1933 • In the foreground you can see a clump of bare winterberry bushes beside a couple of wind-ravaged yellow birch trees. Warmer temps have finally gifted an ice-free zone where the Cobbosseecontee Stream flows into the Kennebec River making many gulls and ducks happy campers :) • The stream’s name translates to: plenty of sturgeon in Wabanaki, a collection of Native American Nations common to Maine • We’re looking forward to another spring-like day tomorrow before Super Bowl Sunday. Happy and Healthy Weekends to you all!
