BCSplash - What a beautiful morning!
It's Friday again and time for our latest BCSplash.
The word photography literally means "writing or drawing with light" although it would perhaps be more accurate to say we are recording light.
Obviously it's a bit more complex than simply recording the light. It's about choosing the right time, place and composition.
Occasionally you come across an image that has all those ingredients and quite literally stops you in your tracks and this blip by Reike is a perfect example. What an absolutely stunning scene that keeps you coming back over and over again.
Reike rather modestly said in her journal "That moment I snapped this picture I knew it is gonna be my blip!"
Reike, who now lives in Switzerland has a beautiful journal that, as well as showing her photographic talents, tells the story of her love of dogs, landscapes, mountains and good people!
Make sure you go along and say hello.
Flood Warning for Scottish Blippers
If you read the comments on last week's dramatic BCSplash by StuartDB you may have spotted the note from Pisky29 who is part of the national flood forecasting and warning team at SEPA (Scottish Environment Protection Agency).
They are looking for images which show the damaging effects of flooding on people and infrastructure, to use as part of public warning and informing. If you are willing to share your photos for this purpose, please tag them #floodingScotland and Pisky29 can then contact you through your journal.
Wondering what #BCsplash is?
Well, we’re always on the lookout for eye-catching images to be included on our Facebook and Twitter headers as well as here on the community blog. Pick out a photo that would make an appealing first impression to visitors and add the tag #BCsplash.
We'd love to see new members taking part too - it’s a great way we can help introduce you to the community and showcase your images alongside Blipfoto. Plus, we really enjoy looking through your images every week!
This is where you’ll find us!
