We spent a while watching a heron and little egret this afternoon. The heron appeared to have caught an eel (do we get eels in the Itchen?). It landed on the bank and picked up a long wiggly thing so he either had an eel or a snake. Unfortunately I did not get a shot of the heron with its prey.

This guy was being ignored by the passing people. Can't help but think if you want people to stop, listen and donate some dosh you need to make people feel good; slow and mournful doesn't seem to work.
