Cully Rangers

A rather chilly match for Cully today with a 6-1 or 7-1 win. We are all a bit confused about the final score!

Leo had a great game. He was unusually busy and made some great fingertip saves plus lots of charging out and blocking or kicking the ball to safety.  He had practice last night and they did loads of blocking and making sure they swept through strongly with their arms rather than just flinging them out. That paid dividends today as he put that in to play and managed to block a ball dead so the defender could easily clear it rather than it continuing to dribble into the goal.  His goalie coach was really pleased that her Friday night drills paid dividends on match day.

We were lucky with the weather and although it was chilly, the rain held off until we got home.  After the usual cleaning job of kit and boots were are now all tucked up warm and dry to veg out for the rest of the day.
