Time to dress for dinner.

Today we drove down to Stockport, south of Manchester, to meet our son and one of our grandsons. We chose to meet at Lyme Park, a splendid Englsh country house in a 1400 acre park. Like most such houses it is in the care of the National Trust. The main house was built in the 1720s although there was a house on the site from the 16th. Century.

We decided today to spend our time inside the house, a large part of which is open.
My main blip shows the dining room all set up and ready for guests.
An extra shows part of the valuable collection of clocks.

It was a very enjoyable visit but the lighting levels were very low inside. If it is a sunny day enough light comes in through the large windows to compensate for this. But today was very gloomy with thick cloud.

But it made me realise how amazingly tolerant digital cameras are when faced with low light. Using flash is not allowed but by pushing up the ISO  one can achieve quite acceptable shots.
