Sunset at the beach
Saturday
We were a little late booking our time on Sanibel, and unfortunately we’re unable to book a unit for two weeks, so today we had to say au revoir to Sanibel, and we headed down the coast a bit to the Naples area. We had to vacate our condo by 10am, though it was a bit later by the time we had packed up the car, then we had to drop off our rental bikes as we left. Our plan had been to spend the afternoon at one of the state parks in the area, but unfortunately they were both full! So we decided to continue on to our Airbnb and see if it was ready yet. Fortunately it was, so we unpacked, had a light snack, then headed back to Delnor Wiggins Pass State Park, which is pretty close to our accommodation, thinking that by mid afternoon, some people might be leaving, and we were right. We stayed on the beach until sunset, and Roger even went in the sea for a swim, finding the water warmer than it was in Sanibel - he only tried it once there and didn’t stay in long! With more people on the beach, there weren’t as many birds to be seen today, though as people began to leave the beach around 5pm, the birds began to move in! We also saw a couple of dolphins!
