After the Rain……

The kinetic sculpture “Spring Sapling”, created by Grant Williams and placed on the banks of the Taylor River beside the ASB Theatre was surrounded by flood waters after last night’s storm and heavy rain…..
Ex-tropical cyclone Dovi has wreaked havoc in many parts of New Zealand during the last 36 hours or so. The storm is settling now but thousands of folk are without power in the North Island. The rain was torrential at times during the night and the wind howled around the house. Undeterred I dressed In storm clothing and high gumboots early this morning and Maisie and I walked downstream to the town centre and back checking out the flooding of the Taylor River.
