In another key
The title might be a little misleading because you think it relates to the piano. In fact, it relates to the guitar. I had a fun session with Dan last night.
Dan has a good voice and is a good guitar player. We heard each other sing at the various open mics around Stamford, and Dan suggested whether I might like to do The Civil Wars Poison and Wine.
So, we tried it last night. Even after three run through's it felt right. Dan and I also explored other songs. Refreshingly we both discovered each other's love of traditional Irish/Scottish songs. I'd promised myself that, if I did covers, I would include Scottish and French ones. Singing with Dan on the folk tunes may go some way towards that. Wild Mountain Thyme, Ye Jacobites, etc.
Anyways, as I was leaving, I spotted the piano and the learning guide sheet above the keys. His daughter plays (I think she is 5 or 7).
What a great idea. If anyone knows where I can get one, please let me know.
