Durham

Today it rained and rained and rained. And everyone got wet.

So the plan to go to Durham today turned out to be a good one. I had lunch in a Turkish restaurant where the other customers were Chinese

The city was busy. Many students. Then to the Cathedral. It is impressive. I was married in a Church dedicated to St Cuthbert, 44 years ago come Friday, and the larger At Cuthbert's was the one we used for school services.

I did the Museum tour, scheduled to take 90 minutes it took 125 and could have been done in half that time if the friendly, chatty guide had repeated herself less and picked up on the vibes of the group. We spent a lot of time in the boring bit with little down for the most interesting. Hey ho!

It had cleared by the time I got back to Barney, a much nicer place than Durham btw.  And there c are c many pretty Teesdale villages round here with village greens and interesting houses.

An evening of TV and cosying up to the wood burner. Tomorrow I may cross the border and go to North Yorkshire!.
