Third and fourth cousins

Mr hazelh's third cousin and fourth cousin once removed (blipped) visited us this morning. We had planned to meet for a walk around the Botanic Gardens with them and Beth, but dropped this idea at breakfast time when we saw the weather forecast. After all, Beth has already suffered a drenching in the garden in the last six months.

The visit of the cousins necessitated some early morning scone baking. I was also back in the kitchen soon after their departure to make a bread and butter pudding for dinner this evening, as well as a vegetarian dish for Caitlin. Mr hazelh took charge of the main course of roast chicken.

With Paddy and Caitlin in the house from 6pm onwards, it was inevitable that we played several games. I won Catan (just), we all lost at Mysterium, and a couple of rounds of Exploding kittens left us in hysterics.

It's been a very busy weekend, and the week ahead is going to be frantic...

Exercise today: nothing formal, but I have been on my feet much of the day.
