Playing Catch-up

We went for a walk today - pleasant enough, although we hadn't bargained for one of the paths along a high edge being under a deep snowdrift, which made it pretty difficult and a bit scary. I sank up to my knees a couple of times. We'd hoped to see some Spring migrants, and got a couple of distant sightings of moorland breeders - curlew, lapwing and snipe, but that was about it. This blackbird, right at the start of our walk was obviously finally getting on with nest building.
