So many devices...

...so many charging requirements...
...and we all expect to be connected 24/7, but if the power goes down there is a limited capacity for calls etc...

We often used to get short power cuts when we first moved to Ingbirchworth, and more recently there have been times when we have lost power for hours ( not days, thankfully! ). 

When that's the case we have no landline, as we are VOIP and the hub is down. Our mobile signal isn't great, and certainly last time the power was off for an extended time we didn't have 4G either - and our main font of knowledge is via the village FB site or the WhatsApp group...

So we decided to go old school, and get a wind-up radio, so we're at least in touch with the outside world ;) 
It's also a powerbank for mobile phones and tablets, so in the absence of mains power we can at least charge our small devices!

I'm sure the world was simpler when we had to use a phone box...
