Doing Things Differently

What Becca Bagged Today!

More sun, less wind, so we walked west along the coastal path, round Carsaig Bay and towards Nun's Cave. Unfortunately the scramble to reach the cave defeated my gammy knee, but we did have lunch on the rocks, before wending our way back. We also stopped for coffee at the west end of the Bay. What an idyllic place. No people, loads of wildlife.

But what to blip? The Red Deer herd on the hillside? The seals basking on the reef? The buzzards wheeling overhead? The Raven, mobbed by the buzzards? The Great Northern Diver or Black Guillemots in the Bay? The Golden Eagle that flew directly over our heads? Nope.

How about one of a pair of White-tailed Eagles Rebecca spotted from the kitchen window of the cottage as she fetched our wine from the fridge. We watched them through binoculars and scope for an hour as they flew, fished and squabbled on the reef. FROM OUR BACK GARDEN!!! As Rebecca said - "How cool is that!" This picture was digiscoped with a very shaky hand - but who cares about quality when we've had such a fantastic experience.

For those who care about these things, the WTEs were holiday tick 42, thirteen of which have been Year Ticks.
