Spirit bear

The Kermode, or spirit bear, is pretty rare. It is a white, black bear which I think is a double recessive gene - so doesn't happen all the time.

This venerable old lady was 19 years old in 2018 when this photo was taken and she was (is?) affectionately called grandmother, being the oldest on the island. She wasn't going blind she just had really long eyelashes that give here eyes a funny look.
