I prefer them outdoors.

Both Al and I weren't overly keen on the concept of cut flowers, reckoning they lasted a lot better un-picked.
For the benefit of the wee beastie I brought some in.  They went mad and opened quite a bit more than outdoors as seen by the outdoors example dangling precariously from the ceiling.
