Wide-on-Wednesday: A Local Place

Bobsblips (thanks Bob) has been very kind to me with his choice of theme for the Wide-on-Wednesday challenge: "a local place" is the only place I can take photos until my Covid isolation period ends on Sunday! (Status update: happily my mild symptoms have got even milder, the cough is much less frequent and my croaky voice is well on its way back to normal, I'm very lucky.)

So I popped out into the garden this afternoon with my fisheye lens and pointed it upwards towards the branches of one of our ash trees. Storm Dudley has started to blow so I thought a longish exposure would show how the branches are swaying quite dramatically - it shows the fast movement of the clouds too. The cheap little fisheye lens doesn't have any way of  attaching a filter so I just held my 6-stop filter in front of it to get a long enough exposure.

(Believe it or not, this is a colour photo!)

Judging by the Met Office forecast it sounds like we're going to be spared the worst of the storm here so we hope they're right - and that Friday's Storm Eunice isn't too bad either. We do feel bad for anyone who gets badly affected by yet another storm though.
