Local Shop
After J headed off for her regular appointment I went for a short walk to stretch my legs, before Storm Dudley got fully going. It was just very windy.
This is the local shop. It’s nothing much architecturally, but the family who run it do a good job for the local community. I went there, to the post office and for the first time in nearly two years, last week. The advert for the daily newspaper is telling. I used to get my weekend papers here before the pandemic, but haven’t done that since March 2020. I might try that again, when it’s quiet.
Whilst standing here I noticed WhatsApp messages between my brother and sister. Mum’s had another fall and cut her head. The ambulance has still to arrive over three hours later, the Careline say that it can take a lot longer than that. It’s a service under real pressure.
