Rabies - it's in our power to eliminate it.

Rabies is an invariably fatal disease of people, which is usually caught by being bitten by a rabid dog. The disease is now almost unheard of in Europe. Across the developing world, however, many people, usually kids, still die of rabies, because many dogs in these counties are rabid. Understandably, this awful disease also means that thousands of healthy dogs are slaughtered every year, in case they pose a threat of rabies to people.

Mission rabies is a charity which aims to vaccinate tens of thousands of dogs in India, and elsewhere, to save the lives of many children and to make the wholesale slaughter of "street dogs" un-necessary.
