Makinson Arcade

Built in the late 1880’s, this 100m arcade links the top and bottom of town, and is still thankfully full of small independent shops.
The man who built it situated his tea and coffee business at the bottom end, and although it’s long gone, the tiled floor of the entrance still remains, as does the stained glass front archway.
