Crossing the Thames
... en route to the National Theatre, where we're to see 'This House', a play about the way Parliament operated in the mid to late 70s, when Labour were hanging on to power with an ever-diminishing majority. The play ends, in 1979, with Margaret Thatcher's voice, giving her speech on reaching Number 10, ('Where there is discord ... ' Thatcher as St Francis of Assisi). This on the day that the Iron Lady dies.
