What are the chances? Savoy House is a modern "retirement living" building, constructed on the site of the Savoy Buildings built in 1929. The Savoy buildings originally housed a ballroom and later a music venue, The Beatles played here in 1963. Home to various nightclubs in the latter part of the 20th century, the building became derelict and a fire resulted in its demolition. The site now includes a Co-op store which has the usual fruit and veg images on the front windows. I couldn't help but notice the placement of Savoy cabbages.
