Malham Beck, in Malham Cove
We've booked a couple of days away in Malham with Graham Colling and his wife. Just as storm Dudley (and Eunice) hits the country. We booked into our pub mid afternoon, having driven through heavy rain to get there. We had tried to visit a waterfall, but the rain was too heavy for us to risk it, as the footpath was muddy and very slippery. We retired to the bar for a couple of beers, after which the rain stopped and we were able to walk over to Malham Cove. Malham Beck flowing out from the cove was fairly full, and I loved this lone tree on the grassy knoll in the river. Best viewpoint was almost in the river, so a good job both Graham and I were wearing our wellies.
We did get up to the limestone pavement on the top of the Cove, where we braved the winds and got some good pics, but as we planned to visit Gordale Scar tomorrow, I'm saving my limestone pavement blip until then.
