The calm before the storm

It was just me and Noo at home last night, and we went to bed thinking that the windows could blow in. It was very pleasing, therefore, to wake to stillness and sunshine streaming through the bedroom window.

I nipped to Waitrose in Heathfield just before lunch as the cupboards were bare. They are now slightly less bare. I was expecting the lanes to be full of debris and fallen branches, but I didn’t encounter anything like that. Looking at the forecast, however, last night was just the warm up.
