A new visitor to our garden
I looked out and saw a peanut butter colored tail and assumed it was one of the Carolina Wrens. On closer examination with binoculars I saw that it was a bird I'm unfamiliar with. It looked a lot like a Song Sparrow, but was bigger and the gorgeous ruddy colors matching the wren from Carolina and our very own cat, Merry. We got out the Sibley book on bird identification and identified it as a Fox Sparrow. I hope it returns, perhaps the wind that is ramping up blew it in.
Merry, see the extra as we got ready to drive to the vets, had a great check up and her antibiotic for her liver issues. If the vet didn't read the bloodwork report from the Liver Specialist she said she would never have suspected anything was amiss. Thankfully, she continues to look and act like a very healthy animal. Beautiful coat, active and eating well. We are thankful for all good reports.
For the Record,
This day came in with sun and wind. We are under a High wind alert until tomorrow morning. The worst will be from #AM to 8Am, then heavy rain and cold again, or so they say.
All hands wary.
