Brazilian Bonanza

Spent the day travelling with this lovely Brazilian family, from the Nordeste, the part where we lived for 24 years.

Here we are in Manteigas, a typical mountain town (so different from where we live) in the Serra da Estrela national reserve, where we broke the journey and had lunch - mine was trout from the local river, and Mike had local wild boar.

Eventually arrived, after dark, here in Vila Real, in the Trás os Montes region, in the far north, where we met up with two other Brazilian families, ate excellent pizza, ending with local Port wine.

Gratefuls:
- Mike getting us safely here, after many hours driving
- the way this 7yr old lad got on with the one up here (and reminded us of our 7yr old grandson), was hoping they would, and all the other kids as well
- stunning mountain scenery, we were up at around 1,500 m, looking down on Manteigas at one point (see extra)

And it's going to be mainly just hearts and stars, I need my bed before another full day driving back tomorrow and lots of socialising.
