Back blipped Friday 18th for Wednesday 16th

Couldn’t choose just one shot from our wander round Lisbon so had to do a collage of our day. Arrived at 8 and got the shuttle bus into the square after we’d eaten breakfast. We tried to find the food markets but didn’t quite get there. We did however walk a mile and a half uphill to the monument commemorating 25th April 1974, the day when the Portuguese overthrew the fascist regime.

As the park was beside the big department store we popped in to pick up a few bits from the supermarket and to enjoy a coffee in the rooftop cafe. Very covid safe and 100%mask wearing. Our vaccination status was checked before we were allowed into the cafe.

Took the metro down to an art shop Mr PHL wanted to visit and stopped for lunch at an Austrian restaurant, the chicken schnitzel was delicious and Mr PHL really enjoyed his curry wurst.

Back on the metro to head back to the shop before departing at 4.30. We watched from the top deck and only had a tiny concern that the funnel wasn’t going to have enough clearance to get under the bridge but I figured it was all carefully calculated!

Dinner was followed by a nightcap in the lounge before an early ish night as the clocks go back again tonight as we head to Vigo in Spain.
