(048) Port of Blyth

This is a view from the quayside at Blyth Harbour on North Tyneside. The storage silos were operated by Rio Tinto Alcan and held bulk materials which were transported by rail to the Lynemouth aluminium smelter a few miles to the north. The smelter closed in 2012 but the silos and rail link remains.
