Too much water

We seem to have escaped the worst of Eunice, but the winds remain very strong with periods of heavy rain. The result is that there is a lot of water draining off the hills, collecting in the valley. One of the roads out of the village has been closed for more than a hill because of a landslide caused by heavy rain washing away the substructure of the road. The heavy lorries in the area suggest work is commencing on repairs but today's images suggest there are problems further down the hill. Main image - water coming back out of the drain cover. Extra - water coming out from under the tarmac, on the edge of the road creating a 'new' stream into the river below. Winds die away, rain accumulates.
