Great Northern
While much of the UK was suffering from wind and snow we, for once, were flat calm (see extra) all day. Calm enough for me to lug the 600mm lens round the coast where I came across this Great Northern Diver. It is said that they are birds that tend to use the same feeding grounds each winter so this could well be the bird that appeared on my Blip on 10th January last year as an extra. Curiously my main photo that day was of a chaffinch which I also saw today.
