Another crazy day!

It has been absolutely wild out there today....so much rain and wind, i think we've lost almost 2' of snow....which of course leaves you with a lot of ice!

Update on the vehicle situation!   We decided to take a big chance and drive the Kia with no windshield wipers, into town to pick up the truck.   Kinda crazy when it is driving rain out there!!!  But the truck (that wouldn't start yesterday!) was fixed and we wanted to get it before the big freeze that is supposed to happen here this evening.   So, this was our only window.   Well, it was kinda wild and woolly, felt like we were driving in a very blurry piece of art...sort of like when you look at a landscape and squint really hard....that was what the drive into Baddeck was like.  Luckily it's only 15 minutes and on very quiet roads!    We got the truck and drove the car to the mechanic for him to fix - hopefully this weekend. 

Meanwhile our steep driveway and some parts of the road were just sheer ice...and we had some folks leaving the cabin today!   Terry and i drove back and forth along the patches of icy road, with the chains on the truck, which helped a lot!  Poor guy, he had to put the chains on the truck in the driving rain...what a man i tell you!

So now all is quiet, it's still raining - and i've been watching art videos and reading. 

Phew....now we just have to hope the car gets sorted soon!
