Casks not barrels

We nipped in to the Cooperage at Craigellachie today. I learned that not all casks are barrels and the boys were thrilled to assemble their own barrel. We watched the resizing of some American Bourbon casks.The guys seem to disassemble and reassemble them in no time. From the viewing gallery, we watched two apprentices who looked like they knew what they were doing. Imagine your first day on the job with a gallery full of tourists watching you. Lovely smell in there.
