Love Is In The Air

My Dear Princess and Dear Fellows,

Today has been a nice, quiet day. Caro and I have just been spending time together in this little sandwich between socialising last night and the wedding tomorrow.

It's nice. We are quiet people. We like quiet.

Of course, wedding plans are on our mind. Shenée and Craig are going to pick us up at 12 tomorrow and drive us up the coast to Horowhenua (about 40 minutes away) where the wedding will be held at Ellie's parents' place.

Caro has got her outfit sorted, and I'm sure she will look beautiful. She has also picked out my outfit so that I can look beautiful too.

Poor Shenée and Craig. They will be in our shadow all day. Oh well.

Caro was booked in for a spray tan, so I accompanied her over to the mall and got her a nice coffee for the walk home. After that, it was all about telly and taking it easy.

I am so excited for tomorrow. Probably more than any wedding I've ever been to. It's weird because I've been to friend's weddings before but for some reason this one is special.

It's partially that Ellie is a lovely, warm, friendly and funny woman, sure. But it's also something to do with this wonderful work family we've created. I feel very invested.

It's causing this weird domino effect where I'm much more appreciative of Caro. Basically I've been a big sook all day.

It is very weird. And unlike me. Or maybe this has been me the whole time and I just didn't know.

p.s. I wrote Ellie a poem, because I know Ellie likes poems:

Ellie and AJ and Stuff and Things
Awake, awake!
Don’t hesitate!
Get up from out your bed!
We’ll celebrate!
No time to wait!
For Ellie’s getting wed!

In the summertime
We’ll crack some wine
There’ll be cake, ice-cream, a bar!
A little romancing
A lot of dancing
And karaoke tra la la!

On AJ’s knee
There sits Aubrey
She’s sporting her antenna!
And by AJ’s side
The lovely bride
Proud of her handsome fella.

And Casey’s here!
All full of cheer
He too loves Eleanor
She’s his best chum
Since she wiped his bum!
(But I shan’t say anymore).

The bride looks stunning
And now she’s coming
With borrowed, old and new
And AJ glows
For I’m sure he knows
Her friends all love her too.

With AJ’s bride
Beside his side
I know she’ll bring him joy
She’s heaps of fun!
And the bestest mum!
(And she’s BETTER than a boy!)

With her pagan way
You know AJ
Is not just getting hitched
I know fine well
Ellie cast a spell!
So he’s also getting witched!

I wish them well
And I cast my spell
For I know what love it brings
My hope for you
Is a magical brew
Of love and stuff and things.
