Dirt Monster

We've begun the project for this spring. First I have to get this root out of the way because I need to place a post directly where the biggest part of it sticks out. Once I've got all the sod moved away to someplace safe we can start the attack on that 'ole dirt demon.
It looks like some sort of octopus about ready to crawl out of the ground and consume the dog.
